Buying an AKC/CFA registered dog/cat does not make a person a reputable breeder, it takes years of experience and gained knowledge to become a reputable breeder. So don&#39;t be tempted to &#39;breed just once,&#39; your purebred animal, because if you do, that makes you a Backyard Breeder, a very bad label you don&#39;t want to have. They compliment each other. It so reminds me of my own rescued Havanna Brown feline, Sweetie Pie, who insists on being on my shoulders as I go about my day. Since it makes her feel secure and she gets to practice her balance, I acquiesce. <br /><br />For those of you who think rescuing an adult animal is just not the same as adopting a kitten or puppy, the bond we share is amazingly close and very special. I found my Sweetie Pie starving and freezing, three paws in the grave, on a concrete wheelchair ramp, as I was going in for physical therapy. As the snow became heavier, her meows became louder and more desperate. Unlike so many others who passed her by, I just couldn&#39;t ignore her and took her home. After treating her frost bite, severe allergies and letting her eat, up to three cans a day, she is healthy, has a full chestnut brown coat, and receives many compliments on her beautiful, big round eyes. Though she was an estimated 3-6 years old by the vet, I am the lucky one to have such love in my life! Even as I type this, my sweet girl is perched on her favorite spot, on my shoulders around my neck.
