BeliefNet.com has posted a wonderful piece which goes into depth on Guardians of Being and includes excerpts from the book.
In addition, we are happy to report that Sherry Huang interviewed Patrick McDonnell for BeliefNet and the result is an insightful interchange where Patrick shares his love for Eckhart Tolle books and animal advocacy.
Thanks, BeliefNet, for both of these articles!

I don't agree with E.Tolle's philosophy...and being "one"with the universe. I am a Christian and have 10 animals that I have kept off the streets, so there are many kinds of compassionate animal care givers out there
Anonymous, there are certainly lots of compassionate animal care givers out there. However, being a Christian doesn't keep someone from enjoying and/or believing in Tolle's "philosophy". I, for one, am a Christian, a believer in Tolle's ideas, and a big fan of Guardians of Being.
Bless you, Patrick, for all you do, and especially for this wonderful, wonderful book. :) I look forward to reading the Beliefnet article!
I believe Christians can learn a lot from Zen practices. To my mind and spirit there in no conflict at all.
Thank you Patrick for your warm wonderful characters and your important messages.
The more I read of world faiths and beliefs, the more they say the same thing!: there is one force behind all this and we are one speck of this Divine Mind/God/Jesus/Mohammed/whatever. Heaven is here and hell is here........we make the choice. Thank-you Patrick for spreading the message. Also for being there for all creatures great and small.
