Long Island's Newsday has a kid-friendly section called Kidsday. Recently, the fine, young reporters from Kidsday interviewed Patrick for their paper and the result is a hard-hitting piece of investigative journalism that we just had to share.
We've posted one of the questions and responses in this blog, and the entire interview is available on their site. Enjoy!
Why did you name your comic MUTTS?Wow Patrick, that response was a mouthful!
It took me a long time to figure out the name for MUTTS, I kept on writing a million different names for the comic and that was the one I kept on going back to. I thought it had a nice sound to it and I liked it because you know we are all Mutts. Everybody's got a little mixture of something and then obviously the dog connection and then also one of the first comic strips was called Mutt and Jeff so I liked the that it was animals people and dogs and cartoons so it had a nice little history to it and it sounded good.
